二十四節気 「寒露」 Nijuushi-sekki 'Kanro'

The period of 'Kanro' starts today and ends on 23rd October 2018.

'Kanro' literally means 'cold dew', indicating dew on wildflowers in the beginning of autumn season. Farmers are engaged in the mid-harvest of five grain rice at this time of the year after a long period of autumn rain.

Dew comes in contact with cold atmosphere - not yet, but is almost to turn into frost. The colour of the leaves change to red and yellow.  Migratory birds, such as swallows, leave Japan heading back to Australia and Southeast Asia, and the winter welcomes those winter birds like wild geese.

This time of the year, we enjoy the clear blue sky with a dry, stable atmosphere.

In Fujiyoshida City, where Masahiko Shimura who was the vocalist and guitarist of the band, Fujifabric, is from, the temperature drops to 11-12℃ at night and rises up to about 18℃.
